Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-23

These Terms govern your use of LaVoix.ai (“LaVoix”, “we”, “us”, the “service”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Together with our Privacy Policy and Fair Use Policy, these documents form the complete agreement between you and us.

1. Account eligibility

2. The service

LaVoix.ai lets you organize YouTube videos into projects and ask AI questions across their transcripts. The service:

The service is provided “as is”. We don't guarantee uninterrupted availability or perfect accuracy — see Section 10 (Disclaimers).

3. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. Plans and billing

Plans, prices, and limits are listed at /pricing. Current tiers:

By subscribing to a paid plan you authorize recurring monthly charges to your payment method. You can cancel anytime via Settings → Billing → Manage Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — no refunds for partial periods.

We may change prices for paid plans with at least 30 days notice. Continued use after the change means you accept the new price.

5. Fair use

In addition to plan-specified limits, the “Unlimited Q&A” on paid tiers is subject to a fair-use policy detailed at /fair-use. Excessive automated or abusive usage may trigger temporary throttling or account review.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of any original content you submit (project names, video annotations, notes). For videos you add via YouTube URLs, you don't transfer rights to the underlying video (which belongs to its creator) — you just authorize us to fetch and process the publicly-available transcript on your behalf.

You grant LaVoix a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process your submitted content for the limited purpose of providing the service to you (indexing, embedding, generating answers).

We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not share your content with anyone except the sub-processors listed in our Privacy Policy.

7. Our content

The LaVoix service — including code, design, branding, and other intellectual property — is owned by us or licensed to us. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the service itself without our written permission.

You may use AI-generated answers (text + citations) for your own purposes (research notes, articles, presentations). Attribution to LaVoix.ai is appreciated but not required.

8. Third-party services

The service relies on third-party providers (Clerk, Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, OpenAI, Anthropic, Inngest, Groq, Google, Resend) as documented in our Privacy Policy. We're not responsible for outages or behavior of these providers, but we do our best to choose reliable partners and respond quickly to incidents that affect you.

9. Termination

You may cancel your account at any time via Settings → Security → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if:

On termination, your data is deleted within 30 days per our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DON'T GUARANTEE:

AI-generated answers are best-effort grounded in the transcripts you've submitted. They can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. Don't rely on them for medical, legal, financial, or other consequential decisions without verifying against the original sources.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF:

WE'RE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION.

Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you in full.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction] (to be finalized when the operating business is incorporated). Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

Before filing a lawsuit, we both agree to attempt informal resolution by emailing support@lavoix.ai with a description of the dispute. We'll respond within 30 days. If we can't resolve it informally within 60 days, either party may proceed.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. For material changes we'll notify you via email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after the change means you accept the new Terms.
